Stories are like films that happen in the imagination.
We are there with the characters. We are engaged by their loves and hates, their sufferings, joys, fears and hopes.
Stories can take us to places we have never been, and into cultures we have never known. We meet people whom in life we shall never have the opportunity of knowing, and find that we are not strangers. We understand their motives and emotions, their actions and the consequences of those actions.
Stories spark debate about decisions, and predictions of outcomes. Telling stories builds relationships and shows us that whoever we are, across generations and cultures, we are all alike.
